The Practice

Small Steps Lasting Change is built around a single, unified practice for caring for yourself over time.

It is not a program to complete. It is not a set of rules to follow.

It is a way of living, tended slowly, with compassion, through whatever life brings.

How The Practice Works

Change does not move in a straight line. It moves in a spiral, returning to familiar territory with more awareness, more skill, and more capacity each time around. That deepening is the whole point.

The Practice has two parts that you work with inside that spiral, The Pillars and The Patterns.

The Pillars

The Pillars are the ground. Four domains of everyday self-care (Move, Nourish, Rest, and Protect) that we tend to throughout our lives. None of them is ever finished. All of them matter. They form one ground, not a list.

The Patterns are the six ways of working with whatever is happening right now: Centering, Aligning Values, Choosing Outcomes, Experimenting, Identifying Supports, and Drifting. You reach for them in any order, from wherever you are.

The Table

The Practice comes alive at The Table where we come together in cohort- based containers to develop and strengthen The Practice together. Each cohort focuses on a part of The Practice, always within the context of the whole.
